What We Do

SportQuest Missions and the Playing With Purpose Scholarship: Two unique programs with distinct goals operate seamlessly to accomplish our purpose.

MOTIVATE

The Playing With Purpose Scholarship Program (formally known as the SportQuest All-American Award) is a national initiative adopted by local communities across America, recognizing and rewarding high school student-athletes who commit to following Christ and embody the PWP attitude.

The PWP attitude is best seen through a life that is:

Selfless - running your race with purpose
Secure - standing for godliness
Submissive - determine in your heart to not just know about Christ but to live for him

WHY IS THE PWP PROGRAM SO IMPORTANT?

No other national scholarship program recognizes and rewards Christian athletes who positively impact their schools and communities. Since 1996, student-athletes have been touched by the PWP Program.

We have awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships and doled out prestigious recognition for program winners on a national level through television, radio, newspaper and magazines.

Our Goals are simple:

RECOGNIZE every Christian high school student-athlete who embodies the PWP attitude.

REINFORCE the PWP message in student-athletes lives through local partnerships.

REWARD PWP applicants and schools through scholarships and support.

EQUIP

SportQuest Missions takes the explosive combination of sports and missions to the world. We equip athletes and coaches to Play With Purpose by serving rather than being served (selfless), stepping out of their comfort zone by engaging people from different cultures (secure) and laying down their agenda and embracing the heart of God for all people (submissive).

While discipling athletes and coaches, we equip primarily in three areas: Spiritual, Athletic, and Cultural.

SPIRITUAL
We focus on six steps to develop a PWP foundation:
1. Determine Purpose
2. Count the Cost
3. Step by Step
4. Run To Win
5. Failure
6. Finish Strong

ATHLETIC
Clinics and competition open the door to influence lives. Team members and coaches organize high energy clinics for young people ages 8-20. Clinics vary in size from 10 to 250 kids. Clinics occur daily for one to two weeks working with the same group of young people. Our model allows for quality time to establish meaningful relationships. The clinics are for young people and led by young people. It’s hands-on sports ministry at its best!

CULTURAL
Every country represents a unique and special people group. Understanding the history of a country, the traditions of its people, the spiritual condition and acceptance of Christianity versus other religions, and the cultural differences are essential. Classroom study, listening to native pastors, and training from seasoned veterans will enable team members to effectively adapt to their mission field.
